Amersham Insurance Services Terms of Business
I. STATUS Amersham Insurance Services is an independent
Intermediary acting oil your behalf to arrange your
insurance cover. We offer a wide range of general insurance
products and have access to leading Insurance companies and
Lloyd's Underwriters. We aim to provide the highest
standards of service in establishing appropriate insurance
cover. Amersham Insurance Services are regulated and
approved by the Financial Services Authority under ref. no:
307357.
2. OUR SERVICE. We are primarily specialist in Motor
Insurance but are also able to assist with other products
such as.. Home Insurance, Travel Insurance, Liability,
Insurance, Motor Fleet cover and other general insurance
products. We will make sure, as far as we are able, that
product or services we offer you match your requirements.
If it is practical, we will identify your needs by obtaining
relevant information from you. We will offer you products
and services to meet your needs and ally requirements you
have. If we cannot match all your requirements, we will
explain the differences in the product or service that we
can offer you. If it is not possible to match all your
requirements, we will provide you with enough information so
you can make an informed decision about your insurance.
We will explain the main features of the product and
services that we offer, including who the insurer is, the
important details of cover and benefits, any significant or
unusual exclusions, any significant conditions or
obligations which you must meet and the period of cover.
If you want to consider the product or services we have to
offer you, we will confirm how long you have to take up your
insurance oil the terms we have quoted you. We will provide
you a written quote if you require one this will include all
the information you need to make ail informed decision and
provide you will a sample policy it you ask for one.
3. DUTY OF DISCLOSURE. It is your responsibility to provide
complete and accurate information to insurers when you take
out an insurance policy, throughout the life of the policy
and when you renew your insurance. It is important that you
ensure all statements you make oil a proposal forms, claim
forms and any other documents are full and accurate. Please
note that if you fall to disclose any material information
to your insurers, this could invalidate your insurance cover
and could mean that part or all of a claim may not be paid.
4. CHARGES. As all Independent Intermediary we are normally
paid a commission by your insurance company (details
available on request). Ill addition we normally make the
following charges:
Mid term adjustments £20.00 Returned cheques £20.00
Instalment charges vary full details on request Replacement
certificate or cover note £20.00 We do not refund commission
this is earned for arranging your insurance In the event of
a bad debt we will add £50.00 if we have to appoint our
debit collectors to cover extra cost, this is in addition to
any charges that the debit collectors/courts may charge We
reserve the right to add £10.00 for late payments
5. NOTIFICATION OF INCIDENTS. It is essential that you
notify us or your insurers of all incidents. Your policy
document will generally give you details on whom to contact
in order to make a claim. If this information is not
provided, or you require assistance, please contact us. We
will then advise you what action is required and by whom.
You must do so whether you believe you are liable or not.
Any letter of claim received by you must he passed to us
immediately, without acknowledgement.
6. CONFIDENTIALITY AND DATA PROTECTION. All information
about you will be treated as private and confidential. We
will only us and disclose the information we have about you
ill the normal course of arranging and administrating your
insurance. We may also use information we hold about you to
provide you with information oil other products and services
we can offer you.
7. COMPLAINTS. It is always our intention to provide a first
class standard of service. However, if you wish to make a
complaint about the standard of service you receive, we have
formal complaints procedure and in the first instance you

In line with our complaints procedure we will log your
complaint and acknowledge in writing to within 5 working
days of receipt attaching a copy of our formal complaints
procedure.
7.FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN SERVICE (FOS). If you cannot
satisfy your complaint with your insurers, or us in limited
circumstances you may be entitled to refer it to the FOS.
